Typography in Web Design:
A very important but often underplayed element in website design is web typography. Typography itself is as old as the earliest writing systems and has since developed into a very specialised field.
Typography originated after the invention of printing from movable type in the mid 15th century and has come along way since then. Today we find a large number of typefaces on the web.
How you approach typeface in your design, will either enhance or diminish the visual impact of your website. Function and aesthetics are intrinsic in web design and how well your design works is just as important as how it looks.
New liberty in Web Design: sIFR Text
Creative uses for typeface in web design were limited until recently. Today’s new operating systems have made it possible for website designers to move away from the limitations of using standard system fonts.
Scalable Inman Flash Replacement, better known as sIFR text are giving many website designers creative leeway. In simple terms, sIFR text is a flash rendering technique whereby designers can replace on-screen text elements with flash equivalents. In order to display correctly on someone’s web browser, sIFR requires the following: JavaScript and a Flash plug-in.
sIFR allows website headings, pull-quotes and other elements to be styled in whatever font the designer chooses. It is Search engine friendly and will d more »

Choosing a Charlotte Web Design Company may be a hard task for some businesses, as a good website can bring small businesses and entrepreneurs more business and a bad one can drive away potential clients.
CODANK Charlotte Web Design Company has listed some important things to consider when selecting a website designer for your project.
Be sure to have adequate funds – Designing a website of quality is not always expensive, but sometimes it is. If you desire more than a basic site then be prepared to pay a good amount for its design.
Conduct proper research in regards to various Charlotte Web Design Companies – Each company may bring something different to the table. The one that you choose should be in-sync with your overall goal and ideas.
Consider the designer’s portfolio – Ask the following questions:
Does the Charlotte Web Designer have a basic style or are the sites varied in style and color?
Are the sites of high quality?
Is their work consistent?
Are the sites actually in use?
Are the websites easy to navigate? Is the content organized and neat?
Learn about copyright ownership and licensing – Make sure you know who owns the code, graphics, and the domain. Would you be able to change web hosts easily or even alter the website if necessary?

1. Make use of article distribution sites. This is one of the fastest, and most straightforward ways of getting your content ‘out there’ and absorb by websites. Do it as soon as you have enough original content. Don’t go for too many, just select about 3 article distributions sites and submit away (I like EzineArticles, IdeaMarketers and GoArticles).
2. Insert images into your web pages. I checked my logs and I have proof that images draw in a lot of ‘extra’ traffic. People search for images as well as web pages. So if your web page is about ‘how to buy a laptop’ and you have a picture named ‘how-to-buy-a-laptop.jpg’ – you will cover both the image searches and text searches.
3. Participate very actively in ONE forum. If you participate in an online forum, you will slowly build credibility with your web readers. Don’t spam – please – just contribute and solve others’ problems. And my style is to select only ONE forum to participate in. That way, you can build up your contribution base very quickly. If folks see you have 1000 posts in a forum, they tend to read what you say. And that means they are more likely to click your links or signature.
4. Send out your newsletter regularly. This is another important point. I personally fail to send my SBI newsletter regularly and it is costing me traffic. If you judiciously send your newsletter out, you get more and more traffic because folks come in to your website, read the latest articles and spread more »

Why would someone pursue self website design instead of hiring a professional? CONTROL, CONTROL, CONTROL! If you have ever worked with a contractor, interior designer, landscaper, or even had your haircut you know what the Diva is saying.
By participating in self website design, you are proactively ensuring that your ideas are heard and your voice, style, and personality are reflected in the design of the site and the wording of the copy. At the end of the day, you are selling yourself. If a website appears clinical, dry, devoid of color, or weighed down with copy, it may not express who you are or what you have to offer.
Creative designers and writers are very passionate about their work and can be overly sensitive when it comes to correction or making changes to what is your website but their masterpiece. There is nothing wrong with using a creative designer or copywriter as long as you are both on the same page. It is important that the person that builds your site shares your vision, understands your philosophy, and as long as it is to your advantage bends to your wishes, this is where self website design comes in, based on these qualities you are the best person more »
