Set up in June 2006 to pioneer a new system of philanthropy based on donor engagement

Connect for Change is a new form of international philanthropy – a way for major donors to find, support and get involved with inspiring projects in South Asia - starting with a pilot in India. We aim to make the experience of giving an engaging one, by connecting donors with exciting initiatives which currently fall outside the priorities of established agency funding, and yet are strikingly effective.

Connect for Change was founded in 2006 as a response to British Asian donors’ need to be able to get in-depth advice on effective giving and address concerns about accountability and impact.

In our first few months, we have facilitated donations of £170,000 to voluntary organisations/ NGOs in India. Our approach is to source and validate inspiring and important development initiatives across a wide spectrum of activities. We then link these opportunities to donors and ensure quality communication and feedback.
